20 years after the seamless integration of sex and automobiles, Infinity has thrown the dice into the world of oil burners. The new European FX (that stunning beauty in the pic) will be driven by a diesel engine developed with Renault, a 3.0-liter narrow-angle V6 which will develop 234-horsepower and 405 foot-pounds of torque. Quite impressive pulling power and knowing the great mileage manufactures are seeing will diesel power we are really hoping that American buyer start demanding they cross the pound so to speak and we get some of them diesels over here! When Nissan gave the Altima a make over for 2010, the freshen up seemed to be just enough and just right to keep Nissan’s best selling nameplate current and hip. Winding Road, one of my favorite online magazines thought so too! They weren’t totally thrilled with the performance of the 2.5 however they simply LOVE the 3.5! They said, “the Altima, particularly with six cylinders under the hood, is a good car to drive. Particularly with the styling and technology updates Nissan made for the 2010 model year, it has a lot to offer as a daily driver, if not as an outright enthusiast vehicle. For somebody who wants something practical (and very handsome, we might add), but still not at all wimpy, the Altima SR sedan is a clever contender.” I totally concur; read the rest here. ;)

The Nissan Titan soldiers on and is still an awesome truck. Although Nissan HAD agreed with Chrysler to jointly build the next generation of Titan the recent 'Carpocolypse' of an economy put that plan on permanent ice! Dont worry about the Titan losing ground though as its still got a lot to offer and as the ONLY Japanese built full size truck not suffereing from recalls its a great time to re-look at the Titan. Thats just what NissanInTheNews.com has done and they posted a very good review of the newest in the Titan line up, among the complements were;"Despite the fact that it sits atop a rugged and powerful chassis, the Nissan Titan delivers a relatively smooth ride that won’t jolt passenger and cargo. In addition to smoothness and crisp handling, the Titan’s 5.6-liter 315-horsepower V8 engine provides rapid acceleration, and also make it possible to tow up to 9,500 lbs." Nicely said, read the rest here, its all as good!

The LEAF is growing a fan base faster than a supermodel on Facebook as it gets closer to world domination, er I mean production. Today the world’s largest rental car company, Hertz Corp., announced plans to spread the LEAF through its worldwide rental fleets. Soon we will be able to rent a LEAF to blow through all our tourist destinations, making sure that we are environmentally friendly even in a foreign country! The Chicago Tribune totally missed the connection between Hertz and the LEAF being an electric vehicle although technically Hertz is a measurement of electrical frequency I’ll allow it! YOKOHAMA (Feb. 8, 2010) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that its eco-drive support system, Eco-mode function and Navigation-linked speed control, employed in Nissan's compact vehicles has won the ANRE (Agency for Natural Resources and Energy) Director-General's award in the 20th annual Energy Conservation Prize. Yeah, that’s the NAVI system that’s will slow the vehicle down if you are approaching a curve too fast and has the Smooth Acceleration Assist that will use computer calculations to speed up your car at the most ‘fuel efficient rate’. I haven’t driven one yet so I will save my cautious anticipations of self driven vehicles until its more widely released here in the States, but it is cool that Nissan is already winning awards with the technology! A pack of 2010 small pick ups were crashed up recently by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and take a guess at which truck came out of the smashup with the highest ratings? Well, this is a Nissan site so theres no way  for a cliffhanger there! The Nissan Frontier was given the highest overall safety ratings and in addition to having really good front, side and rollover ratings the Frontiers roof strength is the highest measured! With the recent attention to vehicle safety its awesome to see our trucks again leading the way in passenger protection. See the rest of the field here.

In response to the recent and very serious concerns about vehicle safety, Nissan has issued an overview of the ways that Nissan has ensured that ‘unintended acceleration’ is not a cause for worry when driving a Nissan product. It address the three key areas of the issue other car makers are dealing with; the accelerator pedal, the start stop button and floor mats. Its worth taking a moment to click the picture, or the link here. Drive safe everyone

Well ahead of the February 10th debut at the Geneva Auto Show, my buddy Woody Thompson is showing a full undisguised pic of what could be the new Nissan Juke. Ok, not so much a buddy as a guy who's site I came across and always has great stuff but anyways! The guy has some kind of magical gift for coming up with the ‘unfindable’ and never fails to score good Nissan sneaks! Word is that the Juke will initially be a Europe only model unless demand makes a US version feasible financially. Check out Woody's site here and then use the comments section to cast your vote; yes we would luv to have it here or no way? ;)
